Ever since its fondation en 1907, The Club du Griffon Vendéen has been responsable for the selection, the improvement and the popularizing of the four varieties : - le Grand Griffon Vendéen - le Briquet Griffon Vendéen - le Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen - le Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen These are four different varieties with precise specificities corresponding to exact criteria of utilisation. They are above all hunters. Their excellent equilibrium, their passion for hunting, their courage and their four sizes make them suitable for all game, from rabbit to stag, and passing by hare, fox, roedeer, red deer, wild boar, …

The role of our Club is to help its members maintain, by a judicieuse selection, all of their qualities; it's also to advise lovers of the breed in their choice of a variety corresponding to their needs.
